Vida Universitária: Jogos Vorazes ou Os Melhores Anos de Nossas Vidas?

After a lecture about diversity and inclusion to an audience of graduate students in an elite institution, many expressed their disappointment in social media in relation to the discriminatory discourse of the lecturer. To understand this phenomenon, exploratory descriptive research was conducted to obtain a sample of the student-body’s perception of the content of said lecture. The question that triggered the controversial response was aimed to understand why homosexuals might be afraid of being out of the closet in the workplace. The lecturer’s answer heavily criticized diversity and inclusion policies, claiming that the extreme left use LGBTQIA movements as a political maneuver that threaten the right to private property through destroying the ideal heteronormative families while promoting queer lifestyle. The exploratory research showed that the majority of the students found the lecture inappropriate and offensive, even those who do not identify as LGBTQIA.
