The object of this study is to examine how social interactions in academic environments result in discriminatory encounters. Interviews were conducted with 73 students aged 19 to 27, all undergraduates in Business Administration from four different Universities. The interviewees were diverse in gender, skin color, social status, religion and sexual orientation. The interviews were transcribed and submitted to speech analyses. It was revealed that white heterosexual males with higher income became dangerously irrational when engaged in acts of moral and physical nature towards their peers, whom were part of social minorities. This type of violence became institutionalized in the academic environment through social micropractices in attempt to preserve socioeconomic-political capital which is established by hegemonic masculinity, reified by disqualifying legitimate rights and interests that aren’t part of the dominant group.
