Regionalização da Oferta do Serviço de Saneamento à Luz das Inovações trazidas pela Lei 14.026/2020

The paper presents (i) the innovations brought about by Law No. 14.026/2020 regarding regionalization of sanitation service provision and (ii) arguments in favor   and   against   the   innovations   brought   by   the   law,   discussing   its constitutionality based on the judgment of ADI's 6.492, 6.536, 6.583 and 6.882. We also present the cases of regionalization of sanitation services in the states of Rio de Janeiro, Alagoas and Amapá, as well as the results of a research on regional  arrangements  already  instituted  in  the  country  after  the  law.  In conclusion, the paper concludes that the regionalization process is in progress, and that the new law has already produced relevant effects. For this purpose, the research demonstrates its objective, methodology, the description of the activities exercised as well as the results collected.
