This report presents the main products developed during the research project "Universal Panacea or Constitutional Remedy? Habeas Corpus in the Superior Courts", selected in the Public Call IPEA/PNPD Nº 131/2012, under the project "Thinking the Law and the Penal Reform in Brazil”, funded by the Ministry of Justice (MJ) and the Institute for Applied Economic Research (IPEA), linked to the Secretariat of Strategic Affairs (SAE). It is an empirical research that examined the Habeas Corpus and Habeas Corpus Appeal filed before the Brazilian Supreme Court (STF) and the Brazilian Superior Court of Justice (STJ) from 2006 until 2014.
