Burnout constitutes a psychological syndrome resulting from chronic workplace stress, characterized by emotional exhaustion, depersonalization, and reduced professional efficacy. This study aimed to investigate the association between organizational factors and burnout precursors among professionals working in São Paulo, analyzing the six organizational dimensions of work life proposed by Maslach and Leiter (1999): workload, control, reward, community, fairness, and values. A descriptive quantitative approach was adopted using a structured electronic questionnaire based on the Maslach Burnout Inventory - General Survey (MBI-GS). The sample comprised 58 professionals, obtained through non-probabilistic snowball sampling. The instrument demonstrated excellent overall internal consistency (α = 0.949). Results revealed that organizational variables (perceived stress level and thoughts of leaving the company) demonstrated moderate to strong associations with burnout precursor dimensions, while demographic variables (gender, age group, company size) showed predominantly weak correlations. The Community dimension stood out with the strongest associations. Findings indicate that organizational context factors exert greater influence on the development of burnout precursors than individual demographic characteristics, reinforcing that effective interventions should focus on climate management and the six dimensions of work life.
