The study aims to analyze the dynamics of the 2018 presidential election in Brazil, in order to understand its relationship with the use of social media. Thus, using Actor-Network Theory (ANT) associated with a single case study, one identified the relevant actors in the formation of a socio-technical network developed to boost the dissemination of electoral content for the presidential campaign. The study also reveals that the production of this content took place through different actors aligned around a single obligatory passage point – social media. Thus, social media were found to change the way citizens have interacted and met, making formal organizations less necessary and expanding the political participation of society as a whole.
