The migratory waves observed in Latin America have intensified in recent decades, particularly the flow of Venezuelans crossing the border into Brazil since mid-2014 in search of better living conditions. This massive exodus poses significant challenges to host countries, which must efficiently address issues related to infrastructure, the economy, and social integration to ensure proper reception and inclusion. In Brazil, public policies, civil society organizations, and international programs have worked to promote the inclusion and dignity of refugees. However, opportunities for integration into the formal labor market remain limited, hindered by bureaucratic, linguistic, and cultural barriers. This research aims to understand the main obstacles faced by Venezuelan refugees seeking access to the formal labor market in the city of São Paulo, as well as to identify the opportunities and initiatives developed to promote their employability and socioeconomic integration.
